Meet Khalisah
Khalisah Hameed (she/her/hers) is a poet, music producer, audio engineer, and teaching artist based in Philadelphia, PA. Khalisah is the author of two poetry collections, Concrete Growth, and Indigo Sun, the editor of an anthology of written and visual art, When the Sun Rose at 9:08, and the producer/performer of her first poetry EP, Musings of Your Everyday Bastard. After graduating from Ramapo College of New Jersey with her Bachelor’s Degree in Music Production with a minor in Creative Writing, she took a year off from school, serving as a Resident Teaching Artist in the Philadelphia cohort of ArtistYear AmeriCorps. She is now continuing her education as an MFA in Creative Writing candidate, focusing in Poetry. Khalisah’s work is intimate and introspective with an emphasis on interpersonal relationships, healing after trauma, and Black-American storytelling through persona.
